It’s been a big week for me with my other life (working for the man) pushing my blogging life to the side. Although I’ve been lax in clicking and commenting I’ve still managed to put together a few things that caught my eye.

four more years
I need to be careful with the “unless you’ve been living under a rock” comment because I clearly remember having a <3month old and being firmly under that rock so, I’ll simply say that some really big news happened in the US that you may have been aware of.
Yes the big man Obama was re-elected by a pretty over-whelming majority. I won’t pretend to know a lot about US politics (or any other for that matter) but it’s nice to see someone who believes in a bit of fairness at the helm of the most powerful government in the western world. If you’re not into politics but are into twitter, I found the stat about Obama’s winning tweet being the fastest and widest tweet ever pretty cool. Even cooler because it smashed the previous record set by Justin Bieber (thank @#$% for that!!)

Zani over at Heart Mama put together an amazing post about perspectives. I read it and couldn’t help re-visiting all my generalisations about my illiterate infant toddler.
There’s thought, wisdom and care in both the images and the words. In short, this deserves a view if you haven’t already checked it out.

Love Heart Mama, great choice. I’m not familiar with Sonny & Luca though so I’ll check it out.
And I was SO proud that I knew Obama won. Must’ve been sunning myself ON the rock at that moment. But on an unrelated note, should I be blanking out my profanities? Because seeing all your @#$% made me feel quite naughty. I’ve seen a lot of @#$% lately and I’m starting to wonder if everyone else is a ‘goody-two-shoes’ or if I’m just terribly improper!?
Love heart Mama was a deserving mention.
As for my #@$%ing swearing. I’m just in the habit of not swearing but swearing from work. I love a good swear but just can’t do it in an email.

I was so relieved that Obama was re-elected, my husband (an American) was following the whole election and keeping me updated. His reply to my text was, “Can count out another war for at least 4 years”.

Excellent choices as always Kev. I too reckon that post from Heart Mama was my fave one all week, maybe all month even! She has such a beautiful way with words and that post really did give me some perspective.

I’m a bit (a lot) of a US politics fanatic, so the whole result made me a very glad person on Wednesday 🙂
